Clearing and Transportation Services Tender (seafreight)


U.S. Embassy, Pretoria, South Africa’s General Service Office (GSO) seeks proposals from qualified, reliable firms with sufficient resources and work experience to perform all the requirements and duties of Freight clearance, storage handling(in and out of Bond Store) and  transportation road freight through the seaports Durban and Cape Town South Africa to the following destinations Gaborone, Botswana; Maseru, Lesotho; Lilongwe Malawi; Maputo, Mozambique; Windhoek, Namibia; Lusaka, Zambia; Harare, Zimbabwe; Eswatini, Swaziland and to the following destinations within South Africa for the U.S. Embassy, Pretoria, U.S. Consulates General Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. (No Combined transportation co-loads with other cargo permitted).


This Tender of Service (TOS) will be in effect from March 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024.

All Transportation Service Providers (TSP) must have a valid (RFA) Road Freight Association, for the transportation of shipments. All clearing and forwarding agents should be registered with (SAAFF) South African Association of Freight Forwarders. All service providers must be in good standing with the Credit Bureau and have sufficient staff, equipment, cleared secure warehouse and closed trucks with tracking systems.


TSP’s may only be represented under the name of one company. Multiple solicitations will produce automatic disqualification. All vendors will abide by the Terms and conditions of the USG within the Tender of service.


A complete tender of service application inclusive of the exact rate sheet format attached herewith and all the required documentation as set out in the tender of service document must be delivered to the U.S Embassy, 877 Pretorius Street, Arcadia, Pretoria no later than 8th December, 2022 @ 16h00. No late proposals will be accepted.

Incomplete applications will be automatically disqualified.
