U.S. Consulate Johannesburg processes applications for Immigrant Visas to the U.S.
The U.S. Embassy in Pretoria does not provide any visa services. Applicants for visas in the Pretoria area should apply at the U.S. Consulate Johannesburg.
The U.S. Consulate Johannesburg processes Non-Immigrant Visa services for Gauteng, Free State, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and North-West Provinces and processes Immigrant Visa services for all provinces, and for applicants from Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe.

Visa Applicants Please Note:
- PARKING: There is no public parking available for consular clients at U.S. Consulate Johannesburg. Vehicles stopping and passenger drop-offs at U.S. Consulate Johannesburg driveways are not permitted. Please be advised that vehicles may not stop or stand on Sandton Drive in front of U.S. Consulate Johannesburg to drop off, or pick-up passengers for any reason. For a fee, secured parking is available at Sandton City Shopping Mall which is within a 5-minute walk of U.S. Consulate Johannesburg.
- ELECTRONICS: Visitors are not permitted to bring electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops, cameras, etc.) into the Consulate. All such items should remain either at home or secured in their car. At their own risk, applicants may leave phones at the Consulate entrance in provided lockers. Note that the lockers are small and large items such as tablets or laptops cannot be checked at the entrance.
