U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is the government agency that oversees lawful immigration to the United States of America. We establish immigration services, policies and priorities to preserve America’s legacy as a nation of immigrants while ensuring that no one is admitted who is a threat to public safety.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Johannesburg Field Office has closed to the public as of November 29, 2019 and will permanently close its Johannesburg Field Office on January 17, 2020.  The U.S. Consulate will assume responsibility for certain limited services previously provided by USCIS.
