Booking Online Appointments for ACS Services
An online appointment system is currently used at the Consulates. Routine passport/citizenship and notarial services are by appointment only.
In order to minimize wait time and provide better service, the American Citizen Services section of the American Consulate General in Durban operates by appointment only. An appointment is required for all passport applications, consular reports of birth abroad (CRBAs) and notarial services.
All applicants for passports and consular reports of birth abroad (CRBA) must schedule a separate appointment for each applicant. We cannot accommodate multiple applicants in a single appointment slot. For example, if a family of 4 is applying for passports, please schedule 4 separate appointments. All applicants must schedule the correct type of appointment. For example, an appointment booked for a notarial service will not be honored for a CRBA application.
Before your appointment, please consult the section of our website pertaining to the service that you are requesting. These sections explain what documentation is required for each type of service and contain links to the appropriate forms. Please arrive at the Consulate with all the required forms fully completed.
After you have booked your appointment, a confirmation page will appear on your screen. Please print this confirmation and bring it to your appointment at the Consulate. For security reasons, you must have your printed confirmation sheet to access to Consulate Compound.
