Cancellation of Nonimmigrant Visa Appointments from March 16, 2020 until May 31, 2020.

March 15, 2020

The U.S. Mission in South Africa, in light of the global COVID-19 pandemic, is cancelling most nonimmigrant visa appointments from March 16, 2020 until May 31, 2020. This action does not apply to diplomatic/official visa application or to immigrant visa applications.

If you had a nonimmigrant visa appointment scheduled March 16, 2020 – May 31, 2020, your visa appointment is cancelled.  Do not attend your previously scheduled appointment. We will notify those visa applicants for whom interviews and processing will continue.

Once you receive a system-generated cancellation notification email, you may access our appointment scheduling system, at http://usvisa-info.com, and reschedule your appointment to a later date. We will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time. The MRV fee is valid and may be used for a visa application in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment.

If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please follow the guidance provided at  http://usvisa-info.com to request an emergency appointment.

Please see the U.S. Embassy’s COVID-19 page for more information: https://za.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
